How to Forward Ports for PS4

  1. Look at the back of your router for the serial number or model number. You might also be able to see the default username and password.
  2. Enter your router IP address into the address bar of your browser. We recommend you use Chrome as it has the least chance of giving you an error. The IP address will lead you to the Homepage of the router manufacturer.
  3. If your router hasn’t been installed previously or has had its username and password changed, it will still have the administrator username and password. Those are set to values User and Password or Admin and Password. If they had been changed you will need to Reset router to Factory Settings. Resetting the router to Factory Settings will erase any changes or calibrations that you have done in the past. If you don’t know the username or password this is the only way to reset them to the standard value. Here is how to reset them:
    • Turn the power of your router off. Locate the Restore Factory Settings button on the side or the back of your router.
    • Find a small object like a paperclip. Press the button for 10 seconds. The lights on the front of the router will begin blinking.
    • Release the button and wait a few minutes before switching on the router.
    • Open your browser and type in the IP address of the router in the search bar. You will be shown the Homepage of your router manufacturer.
    • The username and password should have been changed to the default values. Those are usually user & password or admin & password.
  4. Locate NAT settings in the Advanced settings of the router homepage.
  5. Locate Port Mapping or Port Forwarding and click on it.
  6. PS4 require these ports to be open:
    • Port 80 (TCP)
    • Port 443 (TCP)
    • Port 1935 (TCP)
    • Port 3478-3480 (TCP)
    • Port 3478-3479 (UDP)
